I’m back, did you miss me? No. I see It has been longer than I planned, but I’ve been busy making an impulsive mistake and then trying to mitigate the effects. I heard that sniggering. More excitement is planned in March, but that’s another story. One good thing about long plane flights is that they give you the chance to think, and I found myself wondering what makes the perfect spanking image.

It may surprise you to hear that I have accumulated quite a few pictures in my time, but actually I probably only like about 10%. And the gems are really rare. I put this down to my highly refined taste, and in a modest attempt to pass on this expertise I thought I would try and isolate the essential elements, in the vain hope that some of the commercial sites will take note and up their game. Of course some people don’t learn well from books, and if  AJR needs any practical tips I’m available in person any Thursday. Or anytime, OMG.

So what is the secret of that compelling vision? After many hours of arduous study I have come to a conclusion that the classic view has to include both a girl’s face and red bottom in perfect juxtaposition, ideally otk and shot from the front. You can get away with a rear view, but it is more difficult to get this tasteful and well-balanced. Missy, are you actually asleep there at the front?  I’ll just ask you to help Miss Jones demonstrate the format…

Now I’m not pretending this is the perfect picture, but it does have the essential elements – a pert curvy little bottom, poked up beautifully for smacking and already a lovely red, the centre of attention for both of them. That over-the-shoulder open-mouthed look to check progress is also very appealing. Yes I did pour the water over my head Miss Jones. The face bit is very important, it establishes the personal connection to the viewer. As some of my Readers may remember, I do like conducting field surveys – why should this post be an exception?

This is an alternative form which still retains the classic from-the-front view, displaying curvy spanked cheeks in profile and an expressive face. In this case the viewer is invited in by the spankee using eye-contact, to empathise with her situation. Those knickers look a bit racy for a schoolgirl, but are perfect from a spankers point of view – can be admired during the warm-up, and then gently tugged down once things get properly underway There is an obvious fault in this picture though,  in that her bottom is too low and not fully on display. Wonder if she’s up for a bit of tutoring.

Of course not all images have to be otk, but it is difficult to get the perfect face/bottom effect in other situations. It is funny how even a glimpse of face can convey a lot…

This has broken all the rules, but is still very appealing – mostly due to the glimpse of her eyelashes. Her lovely bottom is very expressive too, looking quite calm and perky, showing the unmarked rosiness that comes from steady sensitive swipes to warm things up. Her posture somehow conveys she is well aware things are about to get much stingier, but is fairly philosophical about it – no doubt thinking that after all the anticipation it would be a bit of a let-down not to get a good caning, and a girl does need some nice stripes to show her friends afterwards

So here is another alternative for the perfect otk shot, with both essential elements in play and even including the cute over-the-shoulder look, but from the back view. Quite nice, but same old problem – bottom needs to be a bit higher. Apart from anything else, this makes it easier for the spankee to watch as her cheeks are smacked, letting her experience the full audio-visual effect as well as the intense sting. In these rear-end shots the red bottom tends to dominate the scene, but hey that’s what it’s all about

At any rate, this is good for show-business and non-live performers – I’ve already heard the old saying has been extended - “never work with children, animals or paddles”

One obvious upside is I have an excuse to review some of the Paddle’s earlier work, so you can see the award is truly deserved…

Well what a turnout for the WAAs, and a surprise winner! Well done Girl in Red, and bad luck Smirking Sarah who got no votes at all. Girl in Squat only got one vote as well, just shows flashing your knickers isn’t the answer to everything (but does work on me). Nice to see inanimate objects putting up a good show – being made of wood really doesn’t have to limit your ambitions. Girl on Right was the pundits favourite and seemed to have a winning lead early on, but Girl in Red had staying power, just pipping her at the post. So into the shiny new page GiR goes, when I get around to it.

This proliferation of new pages is beginning to concern me actually. My crisp, to-the-point, advert-free and minimalist blog is beginning to take on a life of its own. I even have further new pages in draft, and the whole thing is turning into a ladies’ magazine. No, I am not wearing a dress, thank you for asking.

The WAAS

I do enjoy those “award” blog entries, dishing out virtual gongs to the best sites and players as judged by the author the spanko public. Gives a great excuse to carefully review the samples on display and get a warm inner (and bottom?) glow when your favourite wins. However, I do think that some of the very important bit-players don’t get enough attention, so I am going to put this right with my own version – The Wordsmith Alternative Awards. As we don’t have a huge budget it is going to be done in a single post, and after a week (or so) the winner will be announced, and displayed forever on yet another celebratory page, along with a few words from our kind sponsors. Don’t ask.

So to kick this off, the first category is:

“Best Supporting Role”

And the nominees are:

#2 Girl on Right, for managing to appear both nervous and interested at the same time (from that cult classic "Caught, Caned...and Came") Sterling performance also from Girl on Left, admiring Sir's wrist action.

#5 The old school chair, yes so often overlooked here it is playing an essential supporting role in the scene, in direct contact with the soon-to-be-presented real star of the show (Getting the Cane from Sir, 2011)

#6 Smirking Sarah, for her classic portrayal of the girl who has got off fairly lightly whilst the heroine gets properly thrashed

Another New Year dawns Dear Reader, and I wish you every happiness in 2012. For various reasons we are going to be living it up this year, mostly in an attempt to burn off all assets before the government takes them anyway. Apparently the national debt is something like £15K for every person (including children) living in the UK, which means that the small minority who have anything left in the bank are raided on a daily basis by both bankers and tax men So we are going to do our best to single-handedly spend the country out of recession – they can take our money, BUT NOT OUR FREEDOM!!! Now I’ve got a headache.

One of the funny things about happiness is that it is largely self-generated, as long as you are healthy and have enough to eat. Having said that, I have met plenty of people who don’t seem to have enough to eat or are pretty ill but still appear to be smiling and happy – maybe because everyone around them is in the same boat. Not in this country I hasten to add; the lack of even an iPod is quickly fatal here, long before any nutritional issues kick in. This we’re-all-in-it-together thing probably explains the generally philosophical attitude of those unfortunate girls watching a fellow brat wriggling across a chap’s knee, knowing they are next. Of course this isn’t always the case, some can be clearly worried about the implications…

...and prefer not to watch

Hmmm, totally self-absorbed, not giving a thought for the poor old Top whose hand is going to be very sore after spanking six girls. I particularly like the pose of the girl on the far right, who seems to be already imagining her fate with some feeling. Although she has closed her eyes, no doubt the loud slaps and yelps of pain are painting a pretty clear picture, and her bottom is tingling in anticipation. I’ve commented before on how it’s not clear why a Top takes on such arduous duties, but perhaps there are some compensations in a job well done, and having the opportunity to examine the latest in female underwear. Even rolled down they strike a jarring note in her sensuous black outfit. Contrast this with a situation where your “mates” don’t think they are in any danger. The more observant Reader might detect a certain lack of sympathy…

It’s Christmas!

Well this will be the last post until after Christmas, too much excitement is in the offing to be sitting at the computer. I was going to stick up a few spanked-elf pictures to keep in the seasonal mood, but have you ever tried getting an elf at Christmas? Sheesh. Where do they go. I guess they realise there is a dangerous similarity between “elfing” and cheer-leading, costume-wise, or is that just me. So instead I will ask a serious Christmas question – why are there so many schoolgirl scenarios in the spanking scene? We more discerning types like a more sophisticated visual experience involving clever, articulate women. We all let little things bother us sometimes, don’t we Dear Reader? And how little they really matter in the scheme of things. The same guy said: ”Only the gentle are ever really strong”. I like that, it conjures up images of Alan Ladd, the reluctant gunslinger Shane, riding wounded into the sunset at the end of the film. Or maybe I imagined that bit. Now I realise that some people will be marvelling at the thought I could ever be irritated by anything, but there are some things e.g.

Yes, well, sometimes a philosophical attitude can come across as being a bit cheeky, care is needed. I was reading Bonnie’s blog just now, where the discussion was about photoblogs and what people thought of them. As usual I had missed adding anything because the full moon is approaching and I was busy at the weekend.

Some people liked photoblogs, but a lot didn’t and commented they liked the written word, given the choice. And cut out the rude bits, naughty photobloggers, they tended to add. This got me thinking as to whether this is a photoblog (enthusiasts don’t seem to like commentary, oops) or not. There is the tricky judgement as to whether drivel counts as “the written word”.  Probably not. Hence my attempt to smarten things up with a bit of philosophy and general “how to make a million and live happily ever afterwards” advice. Hope you all took it on board and are now feeling better.
